About Patricia Y Wang, MD

Dr. Patricia Wang is a board-certified interventional pain medicine physician at Columbia University Irving Medical Center dedicated to advancing the treatment of acute and chronic pain through precision, innovation, and compassionate, evidence-based care. After completing her anesthesiology training from Yale she completed an interventional pain fellowship training at Columbia University. She combines advanced image-guided interventions with multidisciplinary, patient-centered strategies to restore function, reduce suffering, and improve quality of life.

Dr. Wang partners closely with each patient to understand not only the source of pain, but also its impact on daily function, emotional well-being, and long-term health. Her treatment philosophy integrates the latest advances in interventional pain medicine with individualized multimodal management. Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, she strives to develop comprehensive treatment plans that empower patients to regain mobility, independence, and meaningful participation in their lives. As a forward-thinking clinician, Dr. Wang has a particular interest in minimally invasive therapies, neuromodulation, and emerging technologies that enhance precision and improve patient outcomes. Her research explores innovative methods of measuring treatment success through objective functional outcomes and wearable technology, reflecting her commitment to continually refining the science of pain medicine and translating new evidence into clinical practice.

Dr. Wang is equally passionate about education and mentorship. She actively contributes to the training of anesthesiology residents and pain medicine fellows through curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives, and individualized mentorship. She believes that advancing the field requires not only technical excellence but also curiosity, collaboration, and a lifelong commitment to learning. Whether caring for patients with complex spine disorders, neuropathic pain, cancer-related pain, or persistent post-surgical pain, Dr. Wang is committed to delivering thoughtful, personalized care grounded in the best available evidence. Her goal is to help patients move beyond pain by restoring function, maximizing quality of life, and providing the compassionate partnership they deserve throughout their treatment journey.

Responses are scored and converted to a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest rating.
  1. Did the provider explain things in a way that was easy to understand?
  2. Did the provider listen carefully to you?
  3. Did the provider treat you with courtesy and respect?
  4. How would you rate the provider on a scale from 0 to 10, with 10 being the best possible rating?
