About Jessica A Hennessey, MD, PhD
Jessica Hennessey, MD, PhD, is the Esther Aboodi Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia
University Irving Medical Center and Director of Electrophysiology for New York-Presbyterian Westchester. She is a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in the treatment of atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias, inherited arrhythmia syndromes, and complex rhythm disorders associated with congenital and structural heart disease.
Dr. Hennessey received her MD and PhD from Duke University before completing her residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. She subsequently completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she joined the faculty. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of contemporary electrophysiology, including catheter ablation for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, physiologic pacing, cardiac implantable electronic devices, and the management of patients with inherited and genetic cardiovascular diseases. As Director of Electrophysiology for New York-Presbyterian Westchester, Dr. Hennessey has led the expansion of advanced electrophysiology services across a large regional network, with a focus on improving access to specialized arrhythmia care while integrating innovative technologies into everyday clinical practice. She has particular interests in atrial fibrillation, pulsed field ablation, physiologic pacing, inherited arrhythmia syndromes, sports cardiology, and the application of precision medicine to cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Hennessey is actively involved in clinical research evaluating emerging technologies and therapies in cardiac electrophysiology and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in the fields of cardiac ion channel biology, inherited arrhythmia syndromes, and catheter ablation. She is passionate about translating rapidly evolving scientific evidence into practical strategies that improve patient care and advance the practice of clinical electrophysiology.
