About William Walter, MD
Dr. William R. Walter is a board-certified radiologist specializing in musculoskeletal imaging. He is an assistant professor of radiology practicing at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and an attending radiologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Walter is a dedicated teacher, committed to integrating radiology and imaging into medical education at all levels and across disciplines. He serves as the Director of Medical Student Education for Radiology at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. His clinical expertise in musculoskeletal imaging includes sports injury, soft tissue and bone tumors, spinal imaging, and peripheral nerve imaging across several modalities, as well as imaging-guided interventions in the musculoskeletal system.
Dr. Walter completed his undergraduate degree at Harvard College and received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency training, where he served as chief resident, at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging and interventions at NYU Langone Health. Dr. Walter is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, Association of Academic Radiology, and the New York Roentgen Society.
