Wendy W Sun, MD

Dr. Wendy W. Sun is the Assistant Medical Director of the NYP Allen Hospital Emergency Department and Assistant Professor at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University. She subsequently obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Societies. She then completed Residency in Emergency Medicine at Yale-New Haven Health where she served as Chief Resident. Following that, she stayed at Yale as the Administrative Fellow, earning a Master's of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management.

Dr. Sun is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She is passionate about clinical operations, patient quality and safety, physician well-being, and health Innovation. Dr. Sun is an active member of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), and New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM). She has served on the SAEM Board of Directors and now contributes to national programming and mentorship efforts as the Program Committee Chair for the Annual Meeting.
