About Sarah Ryan, MD
Dr. Sarah Ryan specializes in primary care and preventative medicine as well as managing a wide spectrum of complex medical illnesses for patients who are 17 years and older. She helps her patients make the most informed and best medical decisions that are right for them through communication, education, and a shared decision-making process. Her clinical interests include hypertension, chronic disease prevention, diet and weight management, sexual-reproductive health, and common mood disorders like depression and anxiety in primary care.
Dr. Ryan is a member of the Columbia Hypertension Center, a multi-disciplinary center of excellence that provides high quality care and state-of-the-art diagnostic testing for patients with hypertension.
As a board-certified Adolescent Medicine specialist, Dr. Ryan can be consulted for patients with adolescent specific concerns. She is uniquely positioned to care for the physical and psychosocial issues in this age group and helps them transition into adult care.
Dr. Ryan is bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin). Patients from a variety of backgrounds enjoy having her as their physician. Dr. Ryan is sensitive to the uniqueness of each patient's situation and adapts her consultations and treatment options appropriately to accommodate her patient's needs and concerns.
