About Rachael Jayne Benson, MD
Rachael Benson is an assistant professor of neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, in the Division of Epilepsy and Sleep. She completed her undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis, followed by a medical doctorate (MD) at New York Medical College, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She pursued her residency in Neurology and fellowship in Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
She has a special clinical interest in women with epilepsy, with a dedicated clinic for pregnant women with epilepsy. She has served as vice chair and chair of the Women with Epilepsy Special Interest Group at American Epilepsy Society (AES) national conferences.She is a member of the ECAM Consortium (Epilepsy from Childbearing Age to Menopause) and ESCI (Epilepsy Study Consortium).
She is dedicated to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, serving as Program Leader for Neurology Fellowships and the Program Director for the Epilepsy fellowship.
