About Partha Sardar, MD
Partha Sardar, MD, is an interventional cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Sardar specializes in cardiology, interventional cardiology, and vascular interventions. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Sardar's clinical interests include complex coronary artery intervention, peripheral arterial disease, critical limb ischemia, renovascular disease, pulmonary embolism, and venous thromboembolism.
Dr. Sardar completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Brown University and Vascular Diagnostic and Intervention fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He obtained his medical degree from Calcutta National Medical College in India. He also completed his internal medicine residency at New York Medical College and a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
Dr. Sardar's research interests focus on clinical outcomes and comparative effectiveness research related to endovascular devices and the application of artificial intelligence in interventional cardiology. He is also interested in value-based cardiology and finding solutions to decrease healthcare costs. Dr. Sardar has written over 70 original manuscripts, more than 30 reviews and editorials, and contributed to two chapters in widely used textbooks on Interventional Cardiology. His original research has been published in top journals in his specialty, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal, Journal of the American Medical Association, Circulation Interventions, and JACC Interventions, among others. He frequently lectures at national meetings, including the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
