About Nicholas C. Avitabile, DO
Dr. Nicholas C. Avitabile is a board-certified physician in emergency medicine. He is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center with over 14 years of clinical experience caring for the acutely injured.Dr. Avitabile's primary academic interests are point-of-care-ultrasonography, medical education, resident wellness, and LGBTQ+ medical care. He is the Director of GME Emergency Ultrasound. Dr. Avitabile is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Emergency and Family Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. He currently practices in the Adult Emergency Department at Columbia Irving Medical Center and the Allen Hospital.
