About Meyer Kattan, MD
Dr. Meyer Kattan is Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Division at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. He has been Principal Investigator of several National Institutes of Health (NIH)-supported projects focused on the control of asthma among inner-city minority children. He was a Principal Investigator of an NIH-sponsored project on the clinical use of a Chinese herbal remedy for asthma and a multi-center study of Pediatric Pulmonary and Cardiovascular Complications of HIV Infection sponsored by the NIH's National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. He has served on Data and Safety Monitoring Boards for NIH-sponsored asthma trials. Prior to Columbia, Dr. Kattan served as Professor of Pediatrics, Chief of the Pediatric Pulmonary and Critical Care Division, and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship program at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
