About Maria Salgado, MD
Dr. Salgado is an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and an attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Salgado earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad del Azuay, in Cuenca, Ecuador. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency Training and Chief Resident Year at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, followed by Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Her clinical and research interests are spondylarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, sarcoidosis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and clinical education. Dr. Salgado received formal training in musculoskeletal ultrasound through the Ultrasound of North American Rheumatologist (USSONAR), skills she incorporates into her daily clinical practice.
