About Margaret B. McEntegart, MD
Margaret McEntegart, MD, holds esteemed positions at Columbia, where she serves as the Director of Complex PCI and CTO programs, overseeing one of New York City's leading programs for complex coronary care at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Additionally, she holds the role of Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, further demonstrating her expertise and leadership in the field.Internationally recognized as both a clinician and researcher, Dr. McEntegart brings a wealth of experience to her current roles. Prior to joining Columbia, she served as a consultant interventional cardiologist at Golden Jubilee National Hospital, where she played a pivotal role in establishing and leading the CTO and Complex PCI Program. During her tenure, she also led the MitraClip service and contributed to the development of the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) service.Dr. McEntegart's impact extends beyond her clinical work. She has been instrumental as a principal investigator in various local, national, and international clinical trials. Additionally, she has co-supervised interventional cardiology Ph.D. research fellows alongside Professor Colin Berry, fostering the growth of knowledge in the field. Notably, she established the Glasgow Coronary Core Lab, which played a crucial role in research analyses for significant trials such as the UK multicenter T-TIME trial and the BCIS-REVIVED study.Within Columbia, Dr. McEntegart is actively involved in training and supporting junior faculty, providing supervision and mentorship to interventional cardiology fellows, and promoting education among cardiologists and healthcare professionals.
