About Manish Garg, MD
Dr. Manish Garg is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and the Residency Program Director for the NewYork-Presbyterian Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Garg's academic interests are in medical education, emerging infectious disease, global health, procedures, leadership, EM practice, and resuscitation. He is a respected educator and researcher having published over 60 peer-reviewed publications and providing many lectures at national and international conferences. He has mentored hundreds of medical students and residents and has been honored with multiple golden apple, medical student, and resident teacher of the year awards. He is recognized as an international expert and co-founded two international organizations dedicated to promoting global health equity. He has been recognized by the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine's highest honor with the Distinguished Educator Award in Education Leadership from the Academy for Scholarship. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the American College of Academic International Medicine and has a leadership degree from the American Association for Physician Leadership. He has also achieved success as an expert in the media via commentaries and as an expert witness in the legal domain.Dr. Garg is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Detroit Receiving Hospital. His educational distinctions include Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha. He has been an attending physician since 2004 and currently practices in the Adult Emergency Departments at Columbia Irving Medical Center, Weill Cornell and Lower Manhattan Hospitals.
