About Lyndon Luk, MD


Dr. Lyndon Luk is an assistant professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and associate chair of patient access for the Department of Radiology. He also serves as program director of the Abdominal Imaging Fellowship. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with subspecialty training in abdominal/body radiology. He received his BS from New York University and his medical degree from Rutgers University - New Jersey Medical School. He then went on to complete a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at CUIMC/NewYork-Presbyterian, where he served as chief resident.


Dr. Luk's research interests include pancreas imaging, early detection surveillance for pancreatic cancer, advanced MR imaging techniques of the bladder and prostate, radiomics, and machine learning/artificial intelligence. As a member of the Pancreas Center at Columbia, Dr. Luk leads imaging review with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, oncologists, gastroenterologists, and radiation oncologists, reviewing over 1200 patients annually. Dr. Luk is a member of the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR) Pancreas Adenocarcinoma Disease-Focused Panel, collaborating with colleagues across the country to improve patient care and publish research.


Dr. Luk is passionate about daily education of radiology residents and fellows on clinical service, with an emphasis on radiology reporting that provides effective care for patients and value for referring clinicians. He was awarded the Department of Radiology Lecturer of the Year in 2019 and Teacher of the Year in 2020. He has mentored many residents and fellows who have gone onto successful careers in both academic and private practice.
