About John M. Poneros, MD
Dr. Poneros is a Professor at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Program Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship. He also serves as the Associate Director of the Endoscopy Unit and is a Fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Poneros graduated from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital. After serving on the faculty at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Poneros returned to New York-Presbyterian Hospital in 2008. He has published widely on pancreaticobiliary diseases and the treatment and evaluation of Barrett's esophagus. Dr. Poneros maintains a busy clinical practice and has been named a New York Magazine Castle Connolly Top Doctor.
