About Jasnit S. Makkar, MD


Dr. Jasnit Makkar is an assistant professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and chief of the Division of Emergency Radiology.

He received his MD degree from New York Medical College and completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Westchester Medical Center, followed by a Body MR Fellowship at Mt. Sinai Health System. Dr. Makkar served as program director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency from 2022 to 2025. His research interests include imaging of hepatocellular carcinoma and MR enterography. He is a member of the Society of Abdominal Radiology.
