About Hyunmi Choi, MD
Dr. Hyunmi Choi is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and a board-certified epilepsy specialist with over 25 years of experience. She provides expert care in adult epilepsy and serves as an oversight neurologist for the intraoperative neuromonitoring service at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Choi graduated Cum Laude from the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse. She completed both her neurology residency and fellowship in epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology at Columbia University Medical Center. She later earned a Master's in Biostatistics to support her research on patient-centered outcomes in epilepsy.
Her NIH-funded research focuses on how vascular risk factors contribute to the link between late-onset epilepsy and subsequent stroke or dementia. She has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor annually since 2015.
