About Divya Jayaraman, MD, PhD


Dr. Jayaraman graduated magna cum laude with an undergraduate degree in biochemical sciences from Harvard College in 2008. She then joined the Harvard-MIT MD-PhD program, where she received her Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 2015 and her M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 2017. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital in 2019. Her training in child neurology at Boston Children's Hospital coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic. After completing child neurology residency in 2022, she stayed at Boston Children's Hospital as a clinical and research neurology fellow, conducting research in the lab of Dr. Alan Beggs on the genetics of inherited muscle disorders, while also seeing patients with neuromuscular disorders in clinic and working as a spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) clinical trial sub-investigator with Dr. Basil T. Darras at Boston Children's Hospital. Finally, she completed a clinical fellowship in neuromuscular medicine and electromyography (EMG) at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2024. She is a diplomate of the ABPN in Child Neurology.


Dr. Jayaraman's clinical expertise and practice focuses on neuromuscular disorders of infancy, childhood and adolescence, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, myasthenia gravis, inherited and acquired myopathies and neuropathies, as well as general pediatric neurology.
