About Dignauris Garcia Pichardo, NP
Dr. Dignauris Garcia Pichardo is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner practicing in Pulmonary and Interstitial Lung Disease at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nursing from the Columbia University School of Nursing. Dr. Garcia Pichardo's professional interests focus on pulmonary medicine, interstitial lung disease, chronic respiratory conditions, advanced practice nursing, and patient-centered care. She has a particular interest in the evaluation and management of patients with interstitial lung disease, pulmonary diagnostics, and collaborative care for patients with complex medical conditions. She is board-certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). Her clinical experience includes caring for patients across pulmonary, critical care, cardiac, electrophysiology, oncology, and palliative care settings. She has extensive experience performing comprehensive assessments, developing differential diagnoses, interpreting diagnostic studies, and providing evidence-based management for patients with complex acute and chronic illnesses. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Garcia Pichardo has contributed to scholarly work focused on improving patient outcomes. She co-presented a poster at the NP24 Annual Conference of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State examining the use of artificial intelligence tools to improve medication adherence and reduce hospital readmissions among adults with heart failure. Dr. Garcia Pichardo is fluent in English and Spanish and is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care to diverse patient populations.
