About Benjamin Wooden, MD
Dr. Benjamin Wooden is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He grew up in Maine and attended the University of Maine for his undergraduate studies, where he majored in anthropology. He subsequently earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, graduating with the highest academic standing in the Class of 2017.
Dr. Wooden completed his postgraduate medical training at Columbia University, including an internship, residency, and chief residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Nephrology and an additional year of advanced training in Glomerular Diseases. His clinical interests focus on the management of complex glomerular diseases, as well as genetic disorders affecting the kidney and glomerulus. He is deeply committed to education, both for medical trainees and for patients, whom he believes should be empowered to actively participate in decisions about their own health.
