About Arezou Heshmati, MD
Arezou Heshmati, MD is an associate professor of neurology and pediatrics at the CUIMC, in the Department of Neurology, Division of Child Neurology. Dr. Heshmati completed medical school at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. She underwent pediatric neurology residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at Wayne State University. Previoulsy, Dr. Heshmati practiced pediatric neurology and sleep medicine as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, where she developed a clinical and research interest in pediatric sleep disorders and narcolepsy patients. She is board certified in Pediatrics, Sleep Medicine, and Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology. Dr. Heshamti sees both inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology patients, and is developing and expanding a Pediatric Neurology Sleep Program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
