About Anjan Saha, MD, PhD
Dr. Anjan Saha is an Dr. Anjan Saha is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology. He graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan with a dual Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology and Interdisciplinary Physics. He subsequently graduated with the Dean's Award for Research Excellence from the University of Michigan Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). Dr. Saha moved to New York in 2021 to complete residency through the prestigious Apgar Scholars Program in the Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he was recognized as a Resident Scholar through the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER).
Dr. Saha's academic focus involves promoting the sustainability of healthcare across socioeconomic contexts. He founded a 501(c) tax-exempt non-profit called the Foundation for the Localization and Innovation of Global Health Technologies (FLIGHT) in 2022 to operationalize segments of this focus; he now chairs the board of the organization. His work through FLIGHT received the Kybele International Outreach Award through the Society of Obstetric Anesthesiology and Perinatology (SOAP).
Dr. Saha is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Society for Obstetric Anesthesiology and Perinatology, International Anesthesia Research Society, American Medical Association, New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Physician Scientist Association. He has published across basic science, clinical anesthesiology, and global health, and presented at local, national, and international meetings.
