Dr. Amanda Cantor is a transplant hepatologist, specializing in pediatric liver diseases. She graduated from Sackler School of Medicine in 2016 and went on to complete her Pediatric Residency at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore from 2016-2019. She pursued a fellowship at Columbia-MSCHONY from 2019-2022, specializing in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Dr. Cantor further honed her expertise through a dedicated Pediatric Transplant Hepatology Fellowship, also at Columbia-MSCHONY, which she completed in 2023. With advanced training in the management of pediatric liver and intestinal failure, Dr. Cantor is experienced in providing comprehensive care for patients before and after liver, intestinal, and multi-visceral transplants. She performs a range of procedures, including percutaneous liver biopsy, endoscopy, variceal band-ligation, and colonoscopy, to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient outcomes.
Dr. Cantor's research interests include acute viral hepatitis, viral-induced liver failure, and the effects of COVID and MISC-C on liver function. During her fellowship, she authored several papers on liver injury associated with both COVID and MIS-C. Dr. Cantor is passionate about transition clinics, employing a methodical, team-based approach to empower adolescents in taking charge of their medical needs while facilitating a smooth transition to adult providers.
