About Amy L Turitz, MD
Amy L. Turitz, MD is the co-director of the Preterm Birth Prevention Center and a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She specializes in the care of high-risk pregnancies, including women with poor obstetric histories, medical complications, and fetal anomalies. Her humanistic and thoughtful approach to patients and belief in individualized medical care allows her to provide exceptional care to her patients. Dr. Turitz is passionate about establishing a partnership with her patients to help them navigate through the uncertainties and complexities of a high-risk pregnancy, empower them, and serve as their advocate.
Dr. Turitz earned her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Turitz has expertise in the care of high-risk patients, prenatal ultrasound, and diagnostic genetic testing procedures such as chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis. In addition, she has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics ranging from antenatal surveillance, preterm birth, fetal growth restriction, and medical and obstetric complications of pregnancy.
