About Zeeshan M. Sardar, MD
Dr. Zeeshan Sardar is an expert in the treatment of spine conditions affecting adult and adolescent patients. His practice focuses on the operative care of spinal deformities and degenerative conditions utilizing the most advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical techniques available. While he believes in non-operative treatment of most spinal disorders, when surgery is indicated Dr. Sardar leverages the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques, advanced imaging, and robotic assisted surgical tools to provide individualized treatment plans for each patient. His goal is to help patients reduce their pain, restore function, and get back to their life.
After receiving his bachelors degree in electrical engineering, masters in computer science, and doctorate in medicine from McGill University in Montreal, Dr. Sardar went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the McGill University Health Centre where he served as chief resident. Following his residency, Dr. Sardar completed an initial fellowship in Orthopedic and Neurological spine surgery at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by a spine surgery fellowship at the Texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas, and a subsequent fellowship in advanced spinal deformity under the direction of Dr. Lawrence Lenke at Columbia University and the Och Spine Hospital at NewYork-Presbyterian. Before joining the faculty at Columbia, Dr. Sardar served as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Temple University in Philadelphia.
As an active member of the academic orthopedic and spine communities, Dr. Sardar is a member of the America Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, AO Spine, the North American Spine Society, and the Scoliosis Research Society. His research interests are focused on improving clinical outcomes and surgical techniques to improve patient safety and ensure better surgical outcomes.
