About Adeolu O Ilesanmi, MD
Dr. Ilesanmi works collaboratively with patients across the lifespan and with family systems to maintain intra- and interpersonal harmony and to achieve empowerment toward agency over caring for one's mental health. Her experience includes working with diverse communities throughout the major New York City boroughs and upstate New York, providing a range of services to patients at different levels of acuity. Areas of clinical focus include mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, ASD, complicated grief, adjustment issues, acute and chronic/complex trauma, LGBTQ health, issues of identity and family of origin, and family therapy. Dr. Ilesanmi is passionate about providing patient-centered care in multidisciplinary outpatient settings where clinical knowledge and lived experiences can be exchanged, valued, and respected with other clinicians from varied backgrounds. She appreciates the importance of team-based and systems-oriented care as key components of holistic treatment for patients and clients. Her approach is largely psychodynamic and relational, with emphasis on strengths-based and narrative techniques. She humbly looks forward to continuing to collaborate with and learn from her patients and colleagues.
